Why I’m Starting an Investing Blog

Reading Time:

1–2 minutes

For the past eight years, I’ve served as Chief Investment Officer at two different investment firms. Throughout this journey, I’ve written a weekly article using relatable stories and analogies, to break down complex market events and investing principles. I firmly believe that understanding our behavior as investors is paramount to our success or failure in the market.

Why stories and analogies, you ask? Well, they have this magical ability to breathe life into complex or otherwise dull investment concepts, making them not just understandable but downright engaging! And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good story?

I’ve come to realize that what I loved most about my job is the chance to empower people to make smarter investment choices. Knowing my insights could potentially impact someone’s life for the better gives me a sense of fulfillment and deep purpose in life.

In nearly two decades of serving individual investors, I’ve learned that too often financial media and investment professionals over-complicate and under-explain the keys to success for investors. My mission with this blog is simple: to demystify investing while having a bit of fun along the way.

Albert Einstein, a pretty smart guy, once said that true genius lies in making the complex simple. Einstein also said if you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t know it well enough. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

In starting this blog, my promise to you is to always abide by Einstein’s adages in a way that is both informative AND interesting to you the reader. Thanks for joining me on this adventure and I can’t wait to start this wild ride together – buckle up!
